"Stephany is a leader in Colorado Springs and the state as an advocate for a more socially just society." — Chancellor Venkat Reddy

Dear members of the UCCS community,

Andrea Herrera, Associate Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, will return to the faculty effective November 1. I want to thank her for her contributions toward the campus diversity efforts over the last few years.

Stephany Rose Spaulding will be the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, effective November 1, and will lead equity, diversity and inclusion efforts on campus.

Stephany is a leader in Colorado Springs and the state as an advocate for a more socially just society. Her leadership continues at the national level as a member of the board of directors for the National Truth and Conciliation Commission. Her teaching and scholarship are in the areas of equity and diversity. I am looking forward to working closely with her in enhancing our efforts in this important area.

She will be serving in this role part time over the next couple of months as she performs her duties as a faculty member and director of women’s and ethnic studies. She will assume the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor role full time January 1, 2021 and stay in the role until the successful completion of a national search which will be initiated in Spring of 2021.

Respectfully,
