Resources in Light of the Ukraine Crisis

Dear UCCS faculty and staff,

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the Russian invasion into Ukraine, which began early this morning.

This is difficult news to process. And I know that many members of our community, especially those with family, friends or historical connections to the region, will be experiencing the crisis with heightened intensity. Please take the time, space, resources and support you need to cope.

There are many resources available to support you across campus.

If you are a student:

  • The Wellness Center is open with free counseling and mental health options available.
  • MOSAIC can offer support, solidarity and community in this difficult time.
  • If you have experienced anything that has impacted your well-being, please contact our CARE Team through the Office of the Dean of Students.

If you are an employee:

And if you simply need to take five minutes to yourself, the Take 5 resource offered through the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience offers short exercises to feel more grounded.

Above all, Mountain Lions, I encourage you to show your support for your friends, colleagues, students, and close connections affected by these tragedies. If you see someone hurting, please reach out and let them know they are not alone.

Respectfully,
