About

Kathryn “Kathy” Kaoudis serves as the Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance (starting April 1). She is a collaborative, transparent, and creative high-energy servant leader passionate about student success. Kathy is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Colorado and Virginia and an attorney, licensed in Colorado. She brings almost two decades of experience in higher education finance and accounting, as well as a decade of classroom and online teaching of accounting and business law courses as an adjunct instructor. Kathy is particularly known for building, developing, and leading highly-motivated and empowered, exceptional leaders and teams.

Prior to joining UCCS, Kathy served as Vice President for Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer at Community College of Denver (CCD) for almost five years where she led a team which increased college reserves by almost 80% to the highest level in college history. Under her direction, CCD received its first ever award of state capital construction funding – a $34M win and first award of state funding for classroom and conference room technology – a $5M win. In this role she led the budget, emergency preparedness, facilities, fiscal, grants and contracts, information technology, procurement, and student financial services teams.

Kathy has presented nationally and internationally on federal grant management and compliance including international grants and on successfully managing ERP implementations. Kathy was peer-nominated and named one of four best Business Officers nationally by the Community College Business Officers Association. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Accounting from Old Dominion University and a Juris Doctor and Master of Laws in International Business Transactions from the University of Denver. Kathy is the first woman in her family to earn a Bachelors degree.

Kathy serves as an elected board member on the national American Legion Auxiliary Foundation board and as Grants and Compliance Advisor to the board for the Alliance to Lead Impact in Global Human Trafficking. In her spare time, Kathy and her husband like to hike with their two Labradoodles, enjoy skiing, and love to travel. They have two grown children who both work in the tech industry and live in northern Colorado.
