About

Vice Chancellor Wood has worked in higher education for 43 years. In his role he oversees development, annual fund, university communications, marketing, media relations, media services, community relations, government relations, and alumni relations. He founded and manages the Regional Connect university/community partnership program. He is a member of the Chancellor's leadership team and an officer of the university.

Wood chairs the Regional Leadership Forum, serves on the National Cybersecurity Center and Colorado Springs Sports Corporation boards and is a founding member of the Colorado Springs Regional Leaders Trips. He is a graduate of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute.  Wood received the 2010 Profiles in Leadership award from the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and was named the 2018 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Southern Colorado. He is past chair of the Board of Trustees for the Penrose-St. Francis Health System and Center for Regional Advancement.

Wood received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Emporia State University in Kansas.
